This Privacy Policy explains how Artefact Inc. ("we", "us"), which operates localizedforjapan.com, collects and handles personal information in connection with our Japanese app localization services. We comply with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and provide the rights described below to visitors in the EU and UK under the GDPR.
Information we collect
- Contact details you provide by email — name, email address, and company.
- Project materials you send us for localization (app strings, store-listing text, screenshots, and design files), which may contain personal data if your content includes it.
- Payment information, collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your full card details.
- Usage data via Google Analytics 4 — pages visited, device and browser, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
How we use information
To deliver and improve the service, communicate with you about your project, process payments, and meet our legal obligations.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. It sets cookies and collects usage data. We enable IP anonymization where available and honor browser "Do Not Track" signals. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or your browser's cookie controls.
Third parties
We share data only as needed with our service providers: Stripe (payment processing), Google (analytics), and our email and hosting providers. We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
We are based in Japan. Your data may be processed in Japan and in other countries where our service providers operate. For EU/UK users, such transfers are made with appropriate safeguards.
Retention
We delete project materials once an engagement is complete. We retain billing and transaction records for as long as required by Japanese tax and accounting law (currently up to seven years).
